Happy #4 Ian!

Happy 4th Birthday Ian!!! Ian wanted a superhero party for his 4th birthday. So we made him this cake...

We kept his birthday party simple. Ian had 3 friends over to play, Ty, Nathan, and Jasper.

He begged for weeks before his birthday for Batman and Superman.

I also made batman capes for all his friends. Nathan, Ian, and Ty. Jasper was being shy and didn't want to be in the pictures.

Ava was crying because she wanted to eat some cake so badly. She was sick of waiting.

After the party we went to a corn maze and pumpkin patch.

After Ian went in a ton of circles and got us lost multiple times, we had to fire him from being the leader, so we could make it out of the maze.

At the end of the maze was the pumpkin patch. Ian and Ava both picked out a pumpkin.

Then we went for a hayride.

They also had a small petting zoo.

Last, was the tube slide. Ian went down this so many times. We had a great day! There will be some videos coming soon.

Field trip to the airport

October 5, Ian went on his first field trip with his new preschool. They went to the Los Alamos Airport. Steve, the guy in blue, showed them around, he let them sit in his plane, and he took off and landed so they could watch. Also the head of the airport did a presentation and let them listen to the radio for planes coming in. They also got small glider airplanes to take home. The kids loved it.

The boys were so excited about this plane. They were jumping up and down and screaming every time the plane made a loop around.

The rest of the summer in one giant post

I have decided to combine the rest of the summer in one post because it seemed too overwhelming to do it in multiple posts. So here is the readers digest version. For the 24th of July I was deathly ill, in bed from (we believe) kidney stones. So my wonderful family took my kids to the parade.

Later that day was the kiddie races at the park. The winner of each age group gets $1. Here goes Ian but unfortunately.....

He tripped over the starting line...

So he ran again with the four year olds. He didn't win but he still got a Popsicle.

My dad fell asleep after the morning of fun.

That afternoon, the kids had races in the front yard. Ian was trying to redeem himself, but every time he didn't win he cried. Eventhough the other kids were 7 years older than him. He HATES to lose. He is so competitive.

Back in Las Vegas...Andrea and I took the kids to the Black Mountain Rec Center Pool. We had a blast

Ian learned how to go under the water. And by the end of the day he would go under all by himself, which is huge for Ian, seeing how he doesn't even like water poured on his head in the bathtub.

Back in Panguitch....After a rain storm Mindy and my kids went for a walk through the puddles.

Dustin finally arrived the first of September and we went on another bike ride through Red Canyon, except this time we started at the beginning of the trail and there was a ton more uphills, which are very difficult when you are riding beach cruisers. It was still fun though. When we got to the visitors center we let Ian ride the rest of the way with us. While my parents and kids were waiting for us, my mom snapped these cute photos.

When the kids saw us coming they took off running for us.

While we were on our bike ride, Dustin slammed on the brakes and jumped off his bike. I was wondering what the heck he was doing. He saw a horney toad and caught it for Ian. Here it is on Ian's shirt.

Back in Panguitch... We went down to the baseball fields and had a family game.

We took the kids on their first trip to get a load of wood. Ava wasn't a very big fan.

This summer has been a growing experience for Ian. He learned how to swim with floaties, go under the water in a pool. (that is a miracle). He learned to ride his bike on his own. He caught his first fish all by himself. I know there was more but my mind is escaping me right now. One thing I will say is that my kids were troopers. We traveled here there and everywhere, and I must admit that they are much better at traveling in the car now. One thing I didn't include here was our trip to San Diego to see Annesa and her family. We went to the beach with her ward and had smores. We also met Casey and Tate, and Tate's family at Knott's Soak City. I am sorry to say I didn't take any photos of that trip.
