First snow

Last week we had our first snow of the season. It wasn't much, and was gone by the end of the day, but the kids loved playing in it while they could. Ava wanted to wear Ian's jacket and cars hat, she totally looks like a boy.

They ate chunks of ice off the trampolene.

Fire wood and Trail Loop Hike

My dad and Ava were buddies while they were here. She was always with "Grandpa Rupret" (as she says his name). November 4th we went to get our first load of firewood with our new chainsaw. It was so fun, and a great chance for the kids to learn to work. Ian was an extremely hard worker, he loved stacking the wood in the truck.

Ava was scared of the chainsaw, so she stayed off to the side.

We brought a picnic lunch with us and ate it at this random park in the middle of the forest.

Next we went on the Trail Loop Hike at Bandelier. This squirrel was right off the trail.

This hike is cool because you get to go look in Indian ruins, and some houses.

I love Ava in these pictures, she is always peeking out under the bridge.

Tsankawi Hike and Santa Fe

November 3rd my parents, kids and I went to Santa Fe, to see old town. This was an extremely fancy door of the first church we went to.

This church is the oldest church structure in the U.S.A.

After Santa Fe we went on the Tsankawi Hike. This is one of my favorite hikes so far.

Trick or Treating

My parents drove out on Halloween and we took the kids trick or treating around the neighborhood. Ian was batman, again. (thanks Casey and Tate for letting us use muscles batman). Grandma Sandy got him the axe and belt. Some of these pictures were out of focus, not sure what happened there.

Ava was a pirate. I got her costume on clearance last year. Grandma Net was a witch, and Grandpa Rupert handed out candy until we got back.

Preschool Costume Parade

On Halloween, Ian's preschool dressed up and at the end of class they had a costume parade. The kids weren't very good at pausing so we could take photos, they sort of bunched together. Here are a few shots I did get.
