Ian's thought for the day: "If you pull a fly's wings off, it will be called a walk, then you can smash it with Captain America's shield."
I was impressed by the thought behind this statement.

Wonderful visit with the in-laws
Let me start out with, I am dumb, and didn't take any photos while they were here, so here is one from the cabin.
Sandy and Gary came out for a visit conference weekend. I wish I wouldn't have told my kids they were coming because they bugged me for weeks, constantly asking when Papa and Grandma Sandy were coming. Of course they brought gifts for all. They spoil us way too much!
They flew in on Thursday and we met them in Santa Fe. Ava and Ian were super excited to see them. As soon as they pulled up, the kids ran over to give them big hugs. We walked around downtown Santa Fe and ate at our favorite pizza place.
Friday we headed up to Taos for the day. They have great little shops there. My favorite part was getting a caramel apple at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. We ate at a little mom and pop New Mexican restaurant that turned out to be really good. As we pulled up to the restaurant Ian didn't want to get out of the car, and we soon realized he had "sharted" (it is when you go to fart and a little bit of poop comes out). And to our dismay we also realized he didn't put any underwear on that day. So I followed him into the bathroom (he was walking stiff-legged, you know how kids do that when they poop their pants) and we washed out his shorts. We had brought an extra pair of underwear for Ava, so for the rest of the day he was sporting Ava's underwear and wet shorts. (Little boys in girls underwear, very weird! Creepy, even!) After the good food we headed back to White Rock.
Saturday morning we walked to Overlook Park, it doesn't seem like it would be that far of a walk, but we were pretty tired by the time we got home. Then we watched the first session of Conference. That afternoon we took Sandy and Gary up to Los Alamos to show them around. We went to Ashley Pond and drove up the ski hill so they could get a view of the whole town. We got home in time to have dinner and send the boys off to the Priesthood Session.
Sunday we got up and had Swedish pancakes (a Hulet favorite for Conference weekend). We relaxed and watched both sessions of conference. After the first session I headed up to take a shower, after I was finished I came back down stairs and Gary, Sandy, and Dustin were all fast asleep on the couch. The kids were just sitting on the floor playing quietly while the rest of them were sawing logs, it was hilarious.
Monday, Dustin and I were stuck at the MVD (DMV for most of the world) for a few hours. We were so grateful we didn't have to bring our kids with us. It made me mad that we wasted time there when we could have spent more time with Sandy and Gary though. When we were finished we headed back to Santa Fe to have some pizza at Sam's Club. They make the best pizza with New Mexican green chili's on it. We wandered around a few stores until they had to go catch their plane. We were all very sad to see them go. Now the kids pray that Papa and Grandma Sandy will come back to visit and that they will bring Ellie and Hannah (the dogs).
Time ran out too quickly and we didn't get to do and see all the things we wanted to, it was a great time nonetheless.

Nevermind
Disregard the previous post. It is a long and frustrating story of which I don't feel like telling again. We will just leave it at....the lab won't let us leave until we've been here for at least 1 year. So we will be in New Mexico a little longer.
