Baby Room

This is what I have finished in the baby room so far.  The inspiration came from the owl fabric in the first photo.  I made the quilt first. It has the pink, bumpy, soft fabric on the back.  Annesa made the stuffed owl also shown on the bed.
Annesa and I made these cute owls to hand on the wall while I was in San Diego.
I also made these pom poms to hang above the crib.  They need to be fluffed up again.  Ian and Ava like to play with them.
Then I made these owls out of some scrap wood I found in the back yard.  Drilled holes for the "feet" and put in the dowels.  Now I will have something to hang the diaper bag, jackets, hats, etc. from.

Now I just need to finish covering the changing table, with the same fabric from the quilt, and I think I will be finished.  I sure wish I could paint the walls to match, but hopefully that will be coming in a different house.

Ian's Goal

Ian scored 3 goals this game.  Here is a video of one of them.

Ian's soccer game

Ian has started soccer season again.  This time he is on team White Lightening.  He seems more hesitant so far this season.
We have noticed though, that when he is concentrating he puts his tongue in his cheek.  Notice how many of these photos you can see his cheek poking out from his tongue. Like the one below.
The kid next to him is his friend Jasper.  They also go to preschool together.
I feel like I got some really good shots of him this game.  He has good form.

This is my favorite photo of Ian, celebrating right after scoring a goal.  This one may need to be edited and framed.

Homecoming Parade

September 21st was the Homecoming Parade in downtown Los Alamos.  The kids had a blast!
                                                           Mikaela, Ian, and Dax
The kids are getting ready for the parade to start.
                                                                     Sadie, Ava, and Jasper
Ava with the Scottish Bagpipe players.  She definitely has Scottish blood with her blue eyes and super fair skin.
Ian waving to the fire truck.
After the parade was over.  Ian, Hyrum, Benson, and Addie.
The parade lasted about 1 hour.  I was suprised at how long it was.  It is the biggest parade of the year.  I am hoping to have candy left to hand out on Halloween.

1st Day of Preschool

Ian and Ava are in the same Preschool this year.  (Little Sprouts Preschool).  They have 13 kids in their class, and the moms take turn teaching.  There are four moms there at a time.  School is on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The preschool is at Stacey Gartz's house (a girl in our ward).  It is nice not to have to rotate houses like Joy School. We have 3 class pets.  2 birds and a fish.
 Fine motor activity.
Circle time.  As you can see Ava was not that interested in joining the rest of the class.
We did a tour of the house, to show them where to watch their hands, go to the bathroom, and hang up backpacks and jackets.
We made American flags so they could practice the pledge at home.
And the kids loved the parachute time.
Ian of course was a natural.  He listened and did everything asked of him.  On the other hand Ava was not that thrilled to be there.  I think she will do better when I am not the teacher.  She was very clingy and didn't want to listen.  It doesn't help that she was getting sick as well.  Ian never wants to leave when preschool was over.  I wish he was in Kintergarten this year, but he will get there soon enough.
